Nelson Henson

Nelson HensonServices for Nelson Henson, 85, of Locust Grove, were held Saturday, November 30, 2002, at 2:00pm in the Little Rock Free Will Baptist Church.  Rev. Rick Condit and Rev. Gerald Grass officiated, with interment following in the Elm Grove Cemetery at Rose.  Services were under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Mr. Henson was born April 15, 1917, in Murphy, to Looney and Eva (Murphy) Henson.  He was a lifetime resident of Mayes County and the Locust Grove area.  He married Anna Hughes on August 4, 1938, in Jay.  He worked many years at Patterson Steel in Tulsa before his retirement.  He loved going to church, attending auctions, and spending time with his dog butch.  Family was very important to Nelson, especially his children and grandchildren.  He passed from this life on Tuesday, November 26, 2002, in Tulsa.

He is survived by his wife Anna of the home; three sons, Danny and wife Marian Henson of Tulsa, Jeff and wife Becky Henson of Salina, Jamie and wife Shelly Henson of Tulsa; five daughters, Barbara and husband Robert Smith of Aurora, Colorado, Jeannie Pratt of Tulsa, Patsy and husband Gregg Reichert of Centralia, Washington, Diane and husband Gerald Grass of Pryor, Marilyn and husband Rick Condit of Locust Grove; brother Jodie Riley of Four Corners; 31 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Looney Henson and Eva Henson Riley, brother Arch Henson, sister Nancy Anderson, son Bob Henson, and granddaughter Monica Pratt.
