Services for
Jannette I. Stipes, 47, of Rose, were held Wednesday, August 20, 2003,
at 10:00am in the Lighthouse Assembly of God in Locust Grove. Rev.
Jess Stipes, Rev. Jayson Hildreth, and Rev. Jerry Shoemaker
officiated, with interment following in Hogan Cemetery. Services were
under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stipes was born January 11, 1956, in Pryor, to U.J. and Ruth Ann (Lupton) Sitsler. She had attended Locust Grove schools, and later became a nurse, working for Grand Valley Hospital, Kimberly Quality Care home health, and both nursing homes in Locust Grove. She was married to Gene Stipes on June 16, 1971, in Salem, Oregon. She enjoyed horseback riding, arts and crafts, and flower gardening. She loved caring for her children, her grandchildren, husband, family and friends. She was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God in Locust Grove, as well as Chouteau-Mazie Assembly of God, Faith Assembly of God in Peggs, and First Assembly of God in Salina for many years. She passed from this life on Sunday, August 17, 2003, in Muskogee. She is survived by her husband Gene Stipes of the home; son Jess and wife Christina Stipes of Peggs; two daughters, Jenny and husband Jayson Hildreth of Rose, Jaime and husband Gary Brixey of Peggs; father U.J. Sitsler of Salina; four brothers, Jacky and wife Mary Sitsler, James and wife Joice Sitsler, Gregory and wife Donna Sitsler, and Jeffrey Sitsler, all of Salina; two sisters, Juanita and husband Rusty Taylor of Murphy, Terry and husband Monty Nollen of Peggs; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Ruth Ann Sitsler, and brother Michael Wade Sitsler. |
