David L. Ballou, 1944 - 2003Services for David L. Ballou, 59, of Locust Grove, were held Friday, August 29, 2003, at 2:00pm in the Locust Grove First Baptist Church. Albert Wofford, Jr.officiated, with services under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Mr. Ballou was born August 7, 1944, in Claremore, to Dave and Annie (Sullateskee) Ballou. He was a lifetime resident of the Locust Grove area, and had attended the Ballou School and Locust Grove Schools. He worked for Coverdell Construction, and was a member of the Ballou Baptist Church. He passed from this life on Tuesday, August 26, 2003, in Pryor.

He will be remembered as a simple, hard-working man. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors. He loved his dogs and cats, and most of all his children. He was a very giving person and he never met a person who didn’t like him.

He is survived by his wife Marcelle of the home; son Jerry and wife Teri Bohannon of Coweta; two daughters, Janice and husband David Huber, Reba and husband Clifford Hurt, all of Locust Grove; four sisters, Margie and husband Jack Rodman of Claremore, Bobbie Blossom, Clara and husband Gary Roach, all of Locust Grove, and Joann Arneecher of Salina; two brothers, Leonard "Bo" Ballou, Van and wife Mary Ballou, all of Tulsa; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by both parents; brother Ned Ballou; sister Viola Hamilton, and an infant sister Mary Lee.
