Merlene Kay Tiger

Merlene Kay Tiger was born July 14, 1950, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, to Nelson and Arlene (Levi) Sack.  She departed this life on Friday, July 29, 2005, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 55 years and 15 days.

Merlene was a lifetime Locust Grove and Mayes County area resident.  She attended Locust Grove schools.  In October of 1997, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Merlene and Kenneth Tiger were united in marriage.

Merlene worked as an electronics assembler.  She assembled oilfield sensors for Murphy Instruments in Catoosa, Oklahoma.  Merlene was a member of Church on the Move, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.   She loved gardening and also collected beanie babies.  Merlene also loved cooking, meatloaf being a specialty.

Merlene is survived by: her loving husband: Kenneth, of the home; 2 children: Tricia Wickliffe of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Dana Wickliffe of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 2 brothers:  Charlie Sack of Muskogee, Oklahoma and David Sack of Muskogee, Oklahoma; 4 sisters:  Lorene Budder of Kenwood, Oklahoma, Joann Garnett of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ida Sack of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Mary Sack of Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Merlene was preceded in death by:  her parents and 1 sister:  Juanita Rice.

Traditional wake services were held 7:00 P.M., Monday, August 1, 2005, at Cover’s Chapel United Indian Methodist Church in Locust Grove.  Funeral services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 2, 2005, also at Cover’s Chapel.  Reverend Charlie Sack officiated with interment following at the Little Rock Indian Cemetery.  Services were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
