Gary Lee Green

Gary Lee Green was born October 27, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Oliver and Myrtle (Holmes) Green.  He passed from this life on Monday, April 4, 2005, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 52 years, 5 months, and 8 days.

As a young boy, Gary attended schools in Kansas.  He earned his associates degree in Arts from Kansas University.  He served his country in the United States Army.  On July 2, 1999, Gary and Brenda Burrows were united in marriage.  For over 25 years, Gary was self-employed as a carpet installer.  For the past 5 years, he and his wife Brenda were the owners of the B & G Marina near Locust Grove, Oklahoma. 

Before moving to Locust Grove, Gary had lived in Leach, Oklahoma.  He also had lived in Tulsa for some time.  Gary was a member of the Leach Baptist Church.  He was an avid fisherman that loved the water.  He enjoyed swimming and skiing.  Gary was a very hard worker who also enjoyed yard work and being outdoors.   He will be remembered as a very loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend.

Gary is survived by: his wife:  Brenda of the home; 3 children:  Misty Watkins and husband Keith of Springdale, Arkansas, Jacob Green, and Jamie Green; 2 step-children:   Greg Sinor and Melinda Sinor, both of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren; mother:  Myrtle Dull of Leavenworth, Kansas; father and stepmother:  Oliver Green and Gayle Croom of Kansas City, Kansas; 4 brothers:   David Green and wife Cindy of Kansas City, Kansas, Donnie Green and wife Debbie of Kansas City, Kansas, Rick Green and wife Trudy of Shawnee, Kansas, and Steven Green and wife Dawn of Independence, Missouri; 1 sister:   Karren Harris and husband Red of California; 1 stepbrother:  Robert E. Croom, Jr. and wife Mary of Olathe, Kansas; 4 stepsisters: Debra Hammer and husband Gary of Kansas City, Kansas, Farral Rollins and husband Keith of Kansas City, Kansas, Lori Stogsdill and husband Dave of Shawnee, Kansas, and Sophia McPherson of Commerce, Texas; 2 sisters-in-law:  Treba Neighbors and husband Albert of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Carlene Burrow of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 1 brother-in-law:  Felix Burrow and wife Hazel of Salina, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Gary was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; 2 uncles; 1 aunt; first loving step-mother:  Betty J. Green; and a precious granddaughter: Angel Rosemarie Watkins.

Funeral services were held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 9, 2005, at the Lighthouse Assembly of God in Locust Grove, Oklahoma.  Brother Tommy Parker officiated.  Interment was held at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, April 9, 2005 at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.  Services were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
