Georgia Ella Duvall

Georgia Ella Duvall was born November 8, 1916, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, to Walter and Mary (Kimsey) Moore.  She departed this life on Wednesday, June 1, 2005, in Council Hill, Oklahoma, at the age of 88 years, 6 months, and 24 days.

Georgia graduated from high school in Miami, Oklahoma, the class of 1934.  She had been a resident of the Council Hill and Hitchita area since 1953.  She had also lived in Chouteau, Yonkers, Miami, Allen, and Hoffman, Oklahoma, as well as Southgate, California, Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and Evansville, Indiana.

Georgia worked for Tri-State Insurance in Tulsa during the early 1950s.  While living in Hoffman, she was the post master there, also during the 1950s.  Most of all, Georgia was a dedicated homemaker for her family and was of the Baptist faith.

Georgia loved reading mysteries and westerns.  As well, she enjoyed singing gospel songs and spending time working crossword and jigsaw puzzles.  She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Georgia is survived by: 5 children: Lynn Sutton and husband Bill of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma,  Phyllis Douglas and husband Jim of Owasso, Oklahoma, Bill Gilmore and wife Linda of Allen, Oklahoma, Ted Duvall of Owasso, Oklahoma, and Mark Duvall and wife Martha of Hitchita, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren: Rob Sutton and wife Michelle of Dallas, Texas, Carol Nottingham and husband Donnie of Owasso, Oklahoma, Jim Douglas of Owasso, Oklahoma, Matthew, Marcus, and Reanna Duvall, all of Hitchita, Oklahoma, and Aaron and Lexi Duvall of Seattle, Washington; 5 great grandchildren: Jessica Harper, Julie Harper, and Douglas Harper, Mary Ann Sutton, and Monica Sutton; Other relatives and a host of friends including Madge Sprangel of Wagoner, a friend of 76 years.

Georgia was preceded in death by: her parents and 3 brothers: Elmer Moore, Wayne Moore, and Lindsey Moore.

Funeral services were held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, June 4, 2005, at the First Baptist Church in Locust Grove, Oklahoma.  Reverend Ryan Goodrich officiated with interment following at Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove.   Services were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
