Everett Paul Winfield

Everett Paul Winfield was born June 2, 1928, in Kansas, Oklahoma, to Franklin Loren and Minnie Susan (Boulch) Winfield.  He passed from this life on Monday, May 16, 2005, in McAlester, Oklahoma, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 14 days.

As a young boy, he grew up in and attended school in Kansas, Oklahoma.  Mr. Winfield served his country in the United States Marine Corps.  Having spent most of his life in the Kansas, Oklahoma area, he spent a short time in California.  

For many years, Mr. Winfield attended the Mountain View Holiness Church.  He liked coon hunting, fishing, and enjoyed the outdoors.   Mr. Winfield also liked to ride horses with his son.  He also loved to play the guitar and the bass guitar.  Mr. Winfield had been married to the former Norma Lee Parker for almost 25 years.  She preceded him in death on May 6, 2005.

Mr. Winfield is survived by: 1 son:  Paul Winfield and wife Sandy of McAlester, Oklahoma; 1 daughter:  Sherel Cowan and husband David of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; their mother: Rose Shreve of Chouteau, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 step-daughters:  Jackie and Phyllis; 1 step-son:  David; 3 brothers:   Loren Winfield of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Delbert Winfield of Kansas, Oklahoma; and Barney Winfield of Kansas, Oklahoma; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Mr. Winfield was preceded in death by his parents; his wife:  Norma; and 1 infant sister.

Graveside services were held 1:30 PM, Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at the Kansas Cemetery, Kansas, Oklahoma.  Reverend Rick Kiddy officiated.  Services were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
