Sybil Ingram

Sybil Mae (Wheat) Ingram was born April 8, 1922, in Haskell, Oklahoma, to Clarence and Nancy (Allen) Wheat.  She departed this life on Thursday, September 9, 2004, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years, 5 months, and 1 day.

Sybil grew up in and attended schools in Haskell.  On September 29, 1941, Sybil Mae Wheat and Nick Ingram were united in marriage in Muskogee, Oklahoma.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and canning.  She will be most remembered for her fried chicken and pancakes.  Most of all, she loved her grandchildren.  Sybil was of the Pentecostal faith.  She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Sybil is survived by:  2 sons:  Curtis Ingram and wife Patsy of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Larry Ingram and wife Connie of Locust Grove, Oklahoma;  2 daughters:  Pat Crisp of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Nancy Brown and husband John of Albuquerque, New Mexico;  6 brothers:  Herman Wheat of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Ray Wheat of Eureka Spring, Arkansas, Gerald Wheat of Haskell, Oklahoma, Les Wheat of Haskell, Oklahoma, Doyle Wheat of Bakersfield, California, and Charles Wheat of Texas;  2 sisters:  Katherine Williams of Glendale, Arizona and Shirlene Crawford of Glendale, Arizona;  12 Grandchildren; 24 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great Grandchild;  numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Sybil was preceded in death by:  her parents; her husband, Nick, in 1994; 1 son: Glen Ingram; 1 son-in-law: Bob Crisp; and 4 brothers. 

Funeral services were 11 A.M., Monday, September 13, 2004, at the Iron Post Free Holiness Church in Locust Grove.  Reverend Travis Martin officiated with interment following at the McClain Cemetery.  Services were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
