Obituary for

Francis Lee “Snip” Hendrix

Graveside services for Francis Lee "Snip" Hendrix, 54, of Locust Grove, were held at 2pm Friday in the old Peggs Cemetery. Rev. Rex Hendrickson officiated, with services under the direction of the Locust Grove Funeral Home.

Mr. Hendrix was born November 25, 1945, in Peggs, to Robert and Annis (Englebright) Hendrix. He passed from this life on Wednesday, September 20, 2000, at his home in Locust Grove.

He grew up in Peggs and Locust Grove, graduating from Locust Grove High School in 1965. He worked in construction as a very skilled drywall installer. He loved to hunt and fish, and especially loved playing with his nieces and nephews. He always enjoyed being around children. He was the type of person who would do just about anything for anybody.

He is survived by brothers Leon Simmons of Red Bluff, California, Lewis Hendrix of Wichita, Kansas, and Wayne Hendrix of Peggs; sisters Nellie Henry and Martha Hutson, both of Wichita, Earline Alverson of Peggs, Carolyn Edens of Locust Grove, Jessie Harless of Peggs, Velma Dollarhide of Locust Grove, and Ginger and Marcella Hendrix, both of the home. He was preceded in death by both parents; a brother, Melvin Hendrix, two infant sisters, and one niece.
