Obituary for
Ronald Caine
Funeral services for Ronald Caine, 60, of
Locust Grove, were held at 10:00am Tuesday at the Cornerstone Outreach Church, Locust
Grove. Pastor John Kiddy and Ted Wallace officiated, with interment following at Hogan Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of Locust Grove Funeral
Home.
Ron
was born April 13, 1939, in Sand Springs, to Jack Henry and Florence (French) Caine. He passed
from this life on Saturday morning, May 15, 1999, at his home in Locust Grove.
He
married Nila Marrs on October 13, 1959, in Tulsa. The Caines came to the Locust Grove area in 1974 from Lackland Air Force Base, San
Antonio, Texas. He retired a Master Sergeant from
the US Air Force in August 1979. The couple reinstated their wedding vows in 1986. Ron retired from the US Postal Service in
Tahlequah this year (1999).
He
was very proud of his military service, and was a lifetime member of Sequoyah-Downing VFW Post 3573 in Locust
Grove.
His
favorite hobbies included computer games and exploring the internet, as well as fishing or
playing poker with his buddies. Even in
his condition, he would have played Friday night if there
was a game.
His
greatest joy in life, however, was the birth of each of his 6 grandchildren. He dearly
loved his family, his children and
grandchildren; he was cherished and will be deeply missed by them all.
He
is survived by his loving wife, Nila, of the home in Locust Grove; 2 daughters, Lori
Mullins and husband Tim of Locust Grove, and Lisa
Edwards and husband Richard of Dallas; 1 son, Todd Caine of Pryor; 1 brother, Jack Caine
of Tulsa; and 6 grandchildren, Mandy Mullins, Nathan Mullins, Amber Leigh Snyder, Rachel
Allison Snyder, Zachary Andrew Caine Snyder, and
Todd Eric Caine, Jr. He was preceded in death by both parents.
Honorary
pallbearers were Tommy Glenn, Tim Mullins, Richard Edwards, George King, and JeffVaughn.
In
lieu of flowers, Ron's family requests that donations be made to the Locust Grove
Go-Getters senior citizens group.
